Gerard Lancaster was born February 1, 1990 in Sumter, SC. From an early age, music was always a big part of his life. He started singing in his elementary school choir (Edward E. Taylor) from 2nd-5th grade. In the 6th grade (Gibbes Middle School), he joined the band and picked up the trombone and continued to play it throughout middle and high school (Eau Claire High) and was his instrument of concentration as a music industry major at South Carolina State University. He is a member of the Zeta Eta chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity (Spring 2012). He plays many other instruments, composes, arranges, teaches and produces music on a professional level. Currently, he plays with L.U.X, Musical Solutions, Secrets, Men of Distinction, along with many others, and is the keyboardist for Word of Faith Christian Center and Organist for Mt. Pisgah AME. He is also the Band Director/Music teacher at St. Matthews K8 in St. Matthews, SC. His musical influences include The Notorious B.I.G, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Ray Charles, and Kirk Franklin He has also started his own group, The G.L. Experience. He has branched out as a solo artist and released his first single “The Journey” on December 23, 2019. He has also released more music such as Ringtone (2020), No One ft Corey Stone (2021), Bone On Me ft Adaja Reigns (2022) and Foolin' Around ft Superior Edwards (2023). He is currently working on his first album and is scheduled to be released in 2024.
